Over the up and coming year of university there are a few things id much like to improve on, in this blog i'm going to say a couple of them and write why I think I need to improve.
The first major thing I need and want to improve on is my time management! Throughout college and last year of university my time management skills haven't been the best, I'm always finishing for a deadline the night before and just forgetting things. I could blame this on my Dyslexia but that would mostly just be an excuse as I am quiet lazy! Already though this year I have started keep track of things by putting them into my calendar on my phone and even with these blogs I have started writing titles to blog posts I need to do and just saving them as drafts so I know I will defiantly do them.
Having a job while being at University doesn't exactly help either though to be honest but I have to make a living as I can't afford to just live of my student loan and have little help from my parents but thats not there fault. I am trying my hardest though to manage the two so they are balanced just sometimes it gets harder than other times.
Something else I would like to improve on would probably be keeping up to date on the latest cameras, gear and software out there as I feel like sometimes when people are talking about certain things, i'm just nodding my head for the sake of it but actually have no idea what they are talking about! I know the library has good recourses like magazines with this info in them so I will have to venture down there to see what I can find.
The only other thing I can really think of improving this year is probably my confidence and networking which I feel links into confidence. My confidence has got a lot better since last year and I think this is mainly from getting my job at the skatepark because Im constantly talking to customers on the desk and on the phone but also because this year I am living with Thomas Bone, Siobhan Parkhouse, Lija Jursin and Rhys Bryant who are from the course I am studying and I get along with well so I think its helping me to become more comfortable, especially in our course group at uni as last year I just seemed to sit in the corner and not really talk to anyone!
Overall though I think I can improve on these things over the up and coming years and I look forward to reflecting on them next year to see if they have actually improved!
